For your appointment you should bring all documents (x-rays, MRI images, medical reports etc.). After a thorough clinical examination further tests might be needed. Finally a definite diagnosis is made. If surgery should be indicated, the precise time frame will be fixed already. Your surgeon will inform you about the kind of surgery and all the modalities, which are coming with it. Our anaesthesy-team will plan an anaesthesy according to your individual needs. “Long distance patients” or patients from abroad will preferably call their doctor by phone before the first appointment.

At the day of the operation the patient must have an empty stomach and should come to our operative centre at a given time. Please do not forget all your documents (medical reports, x-rays, MRI etc.). In case of out-patient surgery the patients will stay between 2 to 3 hours in our recovery room after the intervention. On their way home these patients should be accompanied and not drive their own car. In-patients are roomed in our private clinic (Klinik 2000). At the day of discharge the patients are given a copy of the operative report and a plan for the postoperative treatment. Further out-patient appointments can be arranged. Usually the postoperative treatment is guided by the referring physician.



Physiotherapy is mandatory after most operative procedures on the local locomotor system. Our in-patients are treated by our own physiotherapists immediately after the intervention. Out-patients can be treated as well according to their arrangement. After major surgery such as correction of malalignment or total joint replacement we recommend an in-patient rehabilitation in special Rehabilitation Centres, which could be organized by our administration. There is a close co-operation with most of the Rehabilitation Centres in our region.



The number of foreign patients is increasing. In most cases a first consultation by telephone will provide the patient with sufficient information. If any operation in our Praxisklinik 2000 is planned, the preoperative tests (laboratory-test, x-rays etc.) can be made in our clinic on the day before surgery. On request we are glad to offer our help for hotel reservations or flight arrangements. In general it is recommendable to postpone the return home for a couple of days after surgery. The costs for treatment are usually calculated by package deals. These include the surgical fee for the intervention, anaesthesy, implants, any other material, medication, physiotherapy, rooming-in etc. The costs for out-patient after-treatment or rooming-in in an rehabilitation centre can be calculated together with the package deal or separately according the patient’s needs.
